At the time of its release, 7153 was one of the most iconic LEGO Star Wars sets due to one major factor: the first ever Jango Fett minifigure. The ship itself, Jango’s blue-and-gray version of the Slave I, is based on his appearance in Attack of the Clones, and includes several play features.
Fifteen years ago, I built one of the greatest LEGO sets of its generation, the LEGO Star Wars 10188: Death Star, in a two-bedroom apartment in Smithfield, with the low hum of city traffic outside and the quiet glow of December lights inside.
When LEGO announced the reimagining of Jabba’s Sail Barge (Set 75397) in 2025, it felt like a long-overdue return to one of Star Wars’ most iconic scenes. Combining nostalgic appeal with modern design sensibilities, this set quickly became one of the most talked-about releases in the LEGO Star Wars summer wave. Naturally, I had to build it the old-fashioned way, at the kitchen table, with scattered bags, a curious Rose peeking at the minifigs, and Luke asking whether he could stage a Sarlacc Pit battle before I’d even finished the hull.
Star Wars and LEGO fans have long loved the iconic Republic Gunship, and with set 75354, LEGO gives us something special: a mid-sized Coruscant Guard variant based on Star Wars: The Clone Wars. This isn’t a UCS behemoth, it’s a more accessible, swooshable version meant to be played with, displayed, and appreciated for its deep Clone Wars lore.
Back in 2000, the original UCS TIE Interceptor helped define what “Ultimate Collector Series” would mean. Now, 24 years later, LEGO has returned to the sharp lines and menacing silhouette of this Imperial classic with a beautifully modernised re-release – and it doesn’t disappoint.
The LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection has delivered some iconic entries – from Darth Vader to Captain Rex – and now, with set 75408, Jango Fett finally gets his turn under the spotlight.
